About Mr Markos Daskalakis

I am a General and Upper GI consultant Surgeon at Heartlands Hospital, part of University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As you can probably tell from my name, I am Greek. I trained in Greece and other parts of Europe before moving to the UK. Part of my training was completed in Frankfurt, Germany with Professor Rudy Weiner. Prof Weiner’s unit is recognised as one of the world’s leading centres. I have published widely on weight loss surgery receiving more than 1200 citations to date.

I do my private work at hospitals in Birmingham and Solihull where I specialise in the gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgery.
